Grange over Sands Bandstand – 2015

This afternoon Burneside Brass under the direction of our MD Mr Laurie Johnston performed at the Grange over Sands Bandstand, we were the last band to play as part of the Music in the Park – summer 2015

We opened our program with the march Boots and Saddles Arr D Higson followed by Just a Closer Walk, Jerusalem, The Bold Gendarmes, Bonnie Annie Laurie Arr L Johnston, The Great Escape, Carrickfergus Arr L Johnston, Ticket to Ride, All in the April Evening and we closed the first half of our performance with 1914 march.

The band then left the bandstand for a well-earned cup of tea and slice of cake and during the interval the Burneside Training Band under the direction of Mr D Higson took to the bandstand and performed Abide with Me, the march Slaidburn and the hymn Sandon.

Once the band were suitably refreshed they returned to the bandstand for the second half of our program and began with the march Peace and Plenty Arr L Johnston and we continued with Misty, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lass of Richmond Hill Arr L Johnston, Skyfall, Sinatra in Concert Arr D Higson Aces High and we closed our performance with Waterloo to the Somme Arr L Johnston

Harold Roberts – Flugel Horn performing Misty
Oliver Bateman 1st Baritone and Peter Gratrix solo EEb Bass performing the duet The Lass of Richmond Hill Arr L Johnston.

We would like to thank the deps that helped us out this afternoon – Olly Principal Cornet, Carole Marsden Solo Cornet, Sam Brabary Soprano Cornet, Mark Buchanan Euphonium, Steve Scott Euphonium and Ben Croston BBb Bass, also a big thanks to Jamie French who played percussion.
