On the evening of Thursday 31st July Burneside Brass under the direction of our MD Mr L Johnston were in concert at the Kendal Parish Church. The concert was sponsored by the Cumbria – Westmorland Federation of WI’s to commemorate the Centenary of WW1.
We started our programme with Jerusalem which is the Official anthem for the Women’s Institute and then continued with the March To The Front Arr L Johnston, Pride of the Fair Arr L Johnston, Flugel Horn solo Yesterday, Waterloo to the Somme Arr L Johnston, The Kings Own Border Regimental March, Nimrod, The Star of the County Down Arr L Johnston , All in The April Evening and we concluded the first half of the concert with the March Hoch Heidecksburg Arr L Johnston.
The band then had a short break and enjoyed a welcome cup of tea after which we returned to the stand to start our second half performance.
The March Glorious Victory Arr D Higson was the opening piece of the second half which was followed by the Hymn Eternal Father Arr L Johnston, Euphonium Solo Blaydon Races, The Great Escape, Horn Solo Air and Rondo, Cornet Solo Vincent, Trombone Solo The Acrobat, Ticket to Ride, 1914 March and we closed the concert with The National Anthem.
