On Mother’s Day Sunday 30th March Burneside Brass under the Direction of Mr. Roger Lincoln performed a short program of music at the celebration of Westmorland which was held at Kendal Leisure Centre. This celebration was to mark 40 years since the Local Government changes of 1974 which saw the end of Westmorland.As today was Mothering Sunday we played two Hymns followed by the March the King’s Own Border Regimental March that includes the tune D’ye ken John Peel which was traditionally sang in a Cumbrian dialect.
We continued our short program with the Selection From Mary Poppins, Boots and Saddles Arr D Higson, The cornet Trio Buglers Holiday, The Trombone Trio The Bold Gendarmes and we concluded our contribution with The King’s Own Border Regimental March

The Bold Gendarmes was performed by C Woods, M Jeffery and B Hartley.
