Burneside Brass under the Direction of our Musical Director Mr Laurie Johnston were in concert on the Bandstand at Grange Over Sands on Sunday 1st September.
Each Sunday during the summer months a band performs on the Bandstand at Grange Over Sands, this year Burneside Brass are celebrating their 20th Anniversary and we were asked to play for the final concert for 2013.
We opened the concert with the National Anthem and started the first half of our programme with the March Holyrood, followed by a musical selection from Mary Poppins, then Demelza, Memory and The Old Gumbie Cat, Concerto D’Aranjeuz, Star of the County Down Arr L Johnston, The Bold Gendarmes and we concluded the first half of our performance with a March written by Mr Laurie Johnston called Advance Westmorland. This march has been written to mark the 20th Anniversary of Burneside Brass and for the founding members of the band Mr Peter Crawford and Mr W Turton.
After a short interval we returned to the bandstand to start the second half of our programme, this half was opened with the March Trafalgar, followed by All in the April Evening, Pirates of the Caribbean, Vincent, Lustspiel, I’ll Take you home again Kathleen, Rondo, The Shepherds Song and we closed our performance with the March Under The Stars Arr Mr L Johnston.
