Burneside Brass under the direction of our MD Mr Laurie Johnston, started our Summer Concert season on 19th May when we performed at Happy Mount Park, Morecambe. We were lucky to have fine weather for our concert.
We opened the first half of the programme with the National Anthem and the march Holyrood, followed with the selection from Mary Poppins, All in the April Evening, Horn feature Spanish Horns, Star of the County Down Arr L Johnston, Trombone solo The Wind Beneath My Wings, Theme tune from Gladiator, The Overture Lustspiel and we concluded the first half with the contest march Cornish Cavalier.
After a short interval for Ice creams and teas we began the 2nd half with the march HM Jollies, excerpts from the Devon Fantasy, Cornet solo Vincent- Stary Stary Night Arr L Johnston, Trombone Trio The Bold Gendarmes, Euphonium solo Rhapsody for Euphonium, R.A.F Quick March, the film music from the Pirates of the Caribbean, A Special Place
and we closed our performance with the march Under the Stars Arr L Johnston.
