On Thursday 25th October 2012 Burneside Brass held its annual Presidents evening, the evening was attended by invited guests, family and friends of the band. The evening consisted of a number of solo items, presentations and was followed by a hot pot supper. Burneside Brass was under the direction of the Musical Director Mr Laurie Johnston.

Leaving gifts were presented by the Band President Mr Bill Hartley to Sally Walker Eb Tenor Horn who has been with Burneside Brass for 18 years and David Maynard BBb bass who has been with the band for 5 years. Sadly they have both decided to leave us; they will both be missed by Burneside Brass. We hope they will both keep in touch with the band.
The Maggie Less Trophy was awarded to Dave Higson for his work as the bands Librarian
The Musical Directors award for musical contribution was presented to Nicola Bell Solo Cornet, for her work within the band and for leading the Burneside Brass Academy.
The MD’S trophy was kindly donated by Cooper engraving Staveley.
