On Saturday 29th September Burneside Brass were very honoured to be asked to play at the Wedding of Graham (Solo Cornet) and Sharon, the Wedding service was held at St Paterick’s church, Preston Patrick near Crooklands Kendal and the wedding reception held at the Crooklands hotel.
The band was under the direction of Roger Lincoln, Maggie Lees returned to the horn section for the day and Chris Blaylock also assisted the band playing solo cornet.
The band performed at the wedding service and played a number of Hymns whilst the guests were being seated and then prior to the arrival of the bride we played The Rose of Tralee Arranged L Johnston (MD Burneside Brass), Light as Air and The Shepherds song. The bride entered the church to the Bridal march from Lohengrin. The hymns were Praise My Soul the King of Heaven, Love Divine (Blaenwern) and Lord of all hopefulness (Slane). During the signing of the register the band played Demelza and Myfanwy and the bride and groom left the church to Pachelbel’s Canon.
The band then relocated to the Crooklands hotel where we played at the wedding reception. On the arrival of the happy couple the band struck up with the march Wedding Glory followed by The Rose of Tralee, Misty, The Old Gumbie Cat, Memory, Only love, Light as Air, Hymn Tune Coln, Georgia on my mind, The Shepherds Song, Blaydon Races, Buglers Holiday and we concluded our performance at the reception with Share my Yolk.
