On Sunday 10th June Burneside Brass performed at the Storr’s Hall Hotel entertaining the guests that were staying at the hotel over the weekend. It has been a long time since the band last played at this venue and the weather was kind for our return to the venue.
We started our performance at 3pm and opened with the contest March Ravenswood which we played during a recent visit to the Whit Friday marches; this was followed by The Floral Dance, Flugel horn solo Misty, the Military waltz The Grenadiers, The Rose, Cornet duet Playmates, Cornet feature The Shepherds Song, Tenor horn solo Iona, I Vow to thee my Country and we closed the first half with the 3rd Movement from the English Folk Song Suite.
After a short break we opened the second half of the performance with Imperial Echoes this was followed by music from the Film Gladiator, Cornet solo The Lazy Trumpeter, Singing in the Rain, The Old Gumbie Cat, and the Hymn Let the Lower Lights be Burning Arr L Johnston, Cornet trio Buglers Holiday, Light as Air, Jerusalem and we ended our performance with the March White Chateau Arr L Johnston.

Our next performance will be at Party in the Park held at Maude’s meadow Kendal on Sunday 17th June; this engagement will feature Burneside Brass Academy performing in public for the very first time.
