On Monday 28th May Burneside Brass was one of the three bands that combined to perform a Jubilee Concert at the Lakes School Windermere.
The Winderemere-Diessen Twinning Association hosted a joint concert and invited Burneside Brass and Kendal Concert band to perform at this joint concert together with the Blasergruppe Diessen e. V band.
The joint concert opened with all three bands playing Florentiner March, and then each band performed throughout the evening
The Blasergruppe Diessen e. V band played a processional fanfare, an alpine horn feature called Alphornzauber and a trumpet feature entitled Trompeten express and in the second half of the concert played a variety of Bavarian music which included another Alpine horn feature and Bavarian marches and songs
Kendal Concert band played Star wars themes, a selection of Sinatra hits and Palladio and in the second half A Stevie Wonder selection, Ashokan Farewell and Crown Imperial.
Burneside Brass played The Grenadiers military waltz, the Euphonium Solo Blaydon Races performed by David French Solo Euphonium, The Rose and the Contest march Ravenswood. In the second half we played The 3rd Movement to the English Folk Song Suite, The cornet Duet Playmates performed by Debbie Caine Principal Cornet and Graham Hartley Solo cornet and we closed with the Overture the Caliph of Bagdad.
The joint concert was closed by the three bands being joined by two pipers and playing Amazing Grace and Highland Cathedral
