Today Burneside Brass performed at Happy Mount Park Morecambe. We were pleased that the very poor weather that had been in our area the day before had disappeared and we were blessed with brilliant sunshine.
We started our open air concert at 2.30 with the National Anthem followed with a march. The programme was a mixture of traditional brass band music, marches, film music, selections and solo items. The soloists today were Sally Walker solo horn playing Over the Rainbow, Harold Roberts Flugel Horn playing Concerto de Aranjeuz, Oliver Bateman 1st Baritone playing Georgina on my mind, David French Solo Euphonium playing Blaydon Races, Debbie Caine Principal cornet playing Share my Yoke and the front row cornets of Debbie Caine, Graham Hartley and Dave Higson playing the cornet trio Buglers Holiday. We concluded our last summer concert at 4.30 to rapturous applause from the many people that had come to see us perform.
Next week we will be competing at Hardraw scar Brass band contest.
