Burneside Brass was honoured to be asked to play at a wedding on Saturday 18th June 2011 in the Langdales, Cumbria. The venue was stunning as were the bride and groom and for once this year the weather for an event here was kind to both the band and the bridal party.
The wedding started with our very own David Baines (Soprano Cornet) playing the keyboards for the ceremony which in itself was outstanding as he only managed to get a few hours sleep after being at the Whit Friday marches. Once the wedding ceremony was completed the band took to the stage ready to entertain the guests. We performed two 45 Minute sets playing a varied programme ranging from traditional brass band marches and selections as well as some requested German music which was really appreciated by the guests. The day’s solo spots were taken by David Baines (Soprano Cornet) playing Solitaire and Dave Higson playing the Flugal Horn solo Concerto De Arenjuez, the band also performed the cornet Trio Buglers Holiday played by Debbie Caine, Graham Hartley and Dave Higson.
