On Friday 17th December the band was out once again and this time it was to perform at the Windermere Golf Club. Despite the poor weather all over the rest of the UK for a change the South Lakes had escaped the snow. We started the Concert with the descriptive piece called Christmas, the first solo of the evening was Lady in Red performed by Harold Roberts the bands Flugalhorn player this was followed by Candlelight Carol. Christmas Carol sheets were handed out to the gathered audience and they then sang four carols accompanied by the band, the Theme tune to the Snowman (walking in the air) was the penultimate piece of music and the first half was concluded with Savoy Christmas medley.
After a short interval we returned to the stand and opened the second half of the concert with Nuts and Wine A Christmas Fantasy, post horn galop performed by Graham Hartley (Principal Cornet) and Dave Higson (Tutti Cornet) was the second item, once again the audience were encouraged to join in with the Christmas feel by singing several Christmas Carols which was followed by the 12 Days of Christmas. We concluded this concert with Jingle bells and we wish you a merry Christmas.
