Concert at Staveley Village Hall

On Saturday 13th November Burneside Brass performed at a Concert in the Village of Staveley which is a village not far from Kendal.

The concert was opened with the march Punchinello followed by the Tone Poem Othello. Sally Walker our Solo Horn player then performed a Horn solo, Over the Rainbow followed by the third item on the programme, Gershwin for brass. It was then time for our second solo spot of the evening where Debbie Caine played the Cornet solo, Share My Yoke. The final three pieces of music prior to the interval were Mr Jumms, I Vow to Thee My Country and the Paso Doble El Paso.

The second half of the concert was opened with Fanfare and Soliloquy which is a vibrant and descriptive piece of music and then it was time for the third and final solo spot of the evening where Oliver Bateman, 1st Baritone player, performed the solo Georgia on My Mind. Following this was the theme tune from the film Gladiator followed. As the concert fell on the evening prior to Remembrance Sunday the Band then played Jerusalem, Nimrod, the march Old Comrades and closed the concert with pomp and Circumstance Number 1.
