Its Sunday 3rd, our luck has changed and the heavens have opened, we are due to play outdoor at Grange-over-Sands band stand but the decision had to be made in the rain at lunch time to move into the Victoria Hall for the concert. We got it wrong by 2pm the sun was blazing and every thing had dried up but its to late to change so we play indoors. Credit to the organisers (Grange Town Council) and the visitors and people of Grange we start with a few people but by the interval the hall is nearly full and even better they stay for the second half – thank you. lets see if we can be outside again next year.
Saturday 9th and by special invitation we play at one of our “old” cornet players (Claire) 21st birthday. Thanks for the invite Claire it turned into a very sociable party for us, hope you enjoyed it.
Sunday 10th sees us at the Harvest Festival service in our home village of Burneside playing most of the hymns and a couple of pieces. Its seems early for the Harvest but the church has been nicely decorated and they is a good display of produce. Good luck with the sale and social evening on Monday night.
